The Lady Panthers of Virginia Union upended the Northern Division leading Elizabeth City State University 73-60 Wednesday night, sending their senior class out on a final win at Barco-Stevens Hall.
“We dedicated tonight’s win to our seniors. They have given their all to Virginia Union and we wanted tonight to be memorable. ECSU is an excellent and well coached team. Tonight we executed the game plan with excellence and had a season-high 20 assists. Ny Langley’s double-double and six assists played a big factor in this game, while also having three other players in double-digit scoring. Raven Williams and Ymani Breedlove left everything on the court tonight. We love and appreciate our seniors.”
VUU Head Women’s Basketball Coach Tierra Terry
The Lady Panthers were led by Taniah Johnson, who had 14 points, with Rwaven Williams and Darryn Zeigler chipped in ten apiece.
VUU will play their last game of the season Thursday, February 17, when they will take on Salem University. Tip off time is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
